Hello! Question regarding the new brown clay. Is it food safe unglazed? Actually, are any of the studio clays food safe unglazed?
So the clay is not toxic if that is what you are asking if you put food in your containers. What a lot of potters refer to as food safe is how much water is absorbed after the last firing. The vitrification firing. All pottery absorbs water and will grow mold at some point. That’s why people glaze pots. Depending on what your doing you can use a food safe wax or something as a sealant instead I suppose. Or glaze the pot and wipe it off while leaving a little so it kinda fills it in a little
