Hi potters! Question about underglazing......
I have a friend who paints beautiful pictures - mostly ocean scenes. I'd like her to use underglazes to paint a watercolor effect on a piece of pottery. I have some Amaco semi- moist underglazes for her to try.
Should I have her paint before the bisque firing or after?
I'll appreciate any advice you can give.
Thanks in advance and enjoy the day!!

Bone dry greenware will be best for taking the underglaze in but I would even experiment with a leatherhard piece (the drier side of leatherhard). It would be similar to watercoloring on paper that is dry (bone dry greenware) vs watercoloring on paper that has had a wash/dampened (leatherhard).
